Home Improvement Loan

The City offers low interest property improvement loans to homeowners and low interest loans to rental property owners. The loans are at 3% interest for 15 years.

The basic loan qualifications are as follows:

• Property must be located within the Redwood City limits.
• For homeowners, household income must not exceed the income guidelines shown below.
• For owner investors, 51% of tenants must be low and moderate income and within the income guidelines shown below.

Loans are available on a first-come first-serve basis for replacement of roofs, heaters, windows, insulation, as well as many other health and safety items. Owner-occupied applicants approved for loans by December 31, 2007 may be eligible for a free exterior paint grant. Investor owners may receive up to a $5,000 grant towards exterior paint.
